The Ringtail is endangered because of loss of 
habitat in Madagascar. Living in social groups  
of around 25 animals, ringtails eat fruits and 
insects. Some prefer to live in trees, others in 
bushy swamps. All agree that ringtails thrive in
old growth forests, with little harvesting of 
resources by humans.
