The red panda is native to the Himalayas and 
also mountainous regions of south China and
Burma.  It is only distantly related to the giant 
panda and dines on  bamboo but pefers
rhododendrons when available.  Slightly larger
than a house cat, there are less than 2,500 left 
in the wild, threatened by deforestation and
